When you use ValPal, we collect and store: your chat conversations (messages, AI responses, and any documents or artifacts created), uploaded files (CSV files, images, and other attachments), account information (email address, usage history, and preferences), and usage data (chat timestamps, feature usage, and interaction patterns).
How Your Data Is Stored: All chat data is stored in our database. File attachments are stored in secure cloud storage. Chat visibility defaults to private—only you can see your conversations. You may optionally make chats public to share with others.
Third-Party AI Providers: ValPal uses external AI services to process your queries. When you send a message, your message content may be sent to AI providers including OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity for processing. These providers have their own data handling policies. We do not control how these providers use data for model training—please review their respective privacy policies.
Your Control Over Your Data: You can permanently delete any chat from the sidebar, which removes all messages, votes, and associated documents from our servers. You can select and delete multiple chats at once. Contact us to deactivate your account.
Data Retention: Chat data is retained until you delete it. Deleted data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
